I was in a big reading slump in April but I think that was just because I was spending most of my time watching and re-watching Marvel movies. I finally watched Avengers: Infinity War last month and I can’t believe I still haven’t written a review, I feel like I need to re-watch it a few more times to really feel ready to write a review about it, lol. Anyways, I’m glad I started to slowly get out of my reading slump in May. I finished three books, one hardcopy and two audiobooks. I enjoyed all three of them and after I took the photo above I realized that I am a sucker for psychological thrillers involving women in marriages, ha.
The Last Mrs. Parrish
by Liv Constantine (5 out of 5 stars)
I wrote separate blog post review for this book which you can read here if you’d like. I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to follow and I liked the crazy storylines that were happening. It’s about a young lady who wants to steal a woman’s husband and she comes up with a plan to get in between their marriage and then the twists and turns start happening. I would recommend this book and I might re-read it again one day.
The Twilight Wife
by A.J. Banner, narrated by Cassandra Campbell (4 out of 5 stars)
This is the second time I read this book but first time listening the audiobook version. My review of this the second time around is the same as the first; I wish the author had given us more information at the end. I still feel like there are a lot of unanswered questions and I want definite answers about what happens to certain characters. But besides that I still very much enjoyed this one. I liked the characters and the mysterious vibes that this book has. The main character is as clueless as we are so it’s always intriguing trying to figure out what’s going on. I would recommend this book! This is already my 2nd time reading it and I’m not sure if I would re-read it for a third time.
My Husband’s Wife
by Jane Corry, narrated by Rosalyn Landor (5 out of 5 stars)
I listened to this in audiobook format and WOW. Make sure you check out my separate blog post review for this book! I really liked this one, it’s super twisted, mysterious and confusing and I loved every bit of it. The title really grabbed my attention and I was like, “I don’t get it, who is her husband’s wife??” As soon as I thought I knew what was going on I was taken back and proved that I still had no clue, lol. I liked this book so much that I actually bought a hardcopy of it (in paperback!) and I am definitely going to re-read this!!! I definitely recommend this book.
