Travel Diary: New Orleans (Wrestlemania 34) Day 3

Finally, day 3! Before going on this trip I was actually really nervous about attending Wrestlemania on my own. I remember that the week of the trip I was even contemplating not going but I kept reminding myself that my vacation days from work were already scheduled, my flight was booked and I had already bought my Wrestlemania ticket (back in November!) so I knew I had to go no matter what.

I’m really glad that I did go because I ended up having a lot of fun but before I went to Wrestlemania my brother and I visited St. Patrick’s Church and attended their Sunday morning mass. It was a very pretty church and much bigger than the church that I go to here in Florida. It was a nice way to start the day and if you watch my vlog below you can see some clips I shot of the inside of the church.

After church we ate at Blaze Pizza and walked to the Superdome. My brother took some photos of me and then I got in line; I made it in super early, I was in my seat with my food on my lap at 3pm and my entire row was empty until around the Women’s Battle Royal match. Eventually, one of the guys sitting in my row asked if I was alone and I said “yep!” and he was like “what, really!?” and I just told him “yeah, this is my third mania, I love coming to these!” acting as though I always went to Wrestlemania’s by myself, lol. The people sitting in front of me overheard so they started talking to me too about how they thought it was cool that I had such a “commitment” to coming to these shows. They were actually a group of 3 couples and they were very nice. They were always getting up to get more drinks and at one point they came back and actually bought me a drink which was a nice surprise. I’m not much of an alcohol drinker (and don’t like the taste of beer) so I was glad that they handed me a mixed drink and not a bottle of beer. πŸ˜€

It was in the upper 50’s/lower 60’s on Sunday so I wore a gray long sleeve shirt under my brand new Charlotte vs. Asuka t-shirt that I bought the day before and I threw on a pink/blue flannel shirt for extra warmth. To top it off (not pictured above) is another sweater I wore and I felt nice and warm the entire day. Layering is truly magical. The only bad thing was when I was leaving the Superdome it started to sprinkle! Thankfully my sweater had a hoodie but it did kind of suck, lol.

I left the show early at whatever time the AJ Styles vs. Shinksuke Nakamura match ended. I was just so sleepy and the last two matches left were the Raw tag team titles and Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns (which I had zero interest in watching) so I decided to just go back to the hotel which was definitely the right decision for me. I’m kinda bummed out that I missed the fireworks at the end but oh well… sleep was calling. πŸ˜€

The next day I was off to the airport and flew back home to Orlando. I had a great weekend in New Orleans and there was a lot that I didn’t get to do while I was there on my short trip so I know I will definitely be going back to NOLA one day. This is the last post of my Travel Diaries: New Orleans/Wrestlemania 34 trip so if you haven’t yet be sure to check out Day 1 and Day 2 as well as myΒ my Wrestlemania 34 vlog below! πŸ™‚
