My Year in Music 2017

image

First off, I love Spotify! I remember when I first made an account and I was so amazed that I could listen to this infinite number of songs for free! I eventually became a premium member and one of the things that I loved the most were these really cool monthly emails that would tell me what artists and songs I had listened to the most. I don’t know why but I’ve stopped getting them (and I think everyone else has to?) but I’m glad that we still get the yearly breakdown!

I’m kind of surprised that The Script was my most played artist! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE The Script and they are without a doubt my favorite band, but I didn’t think I listened to them that much for them to get the #1 spot. Hmm, well what the heck do I know, right!?

So earlier this year I started getting into reggaeton music and Nicky Jam’s two songs “El Amante” and “Si Tu La Ves” were legit the first songs that I listened to and even though I can’t relate to them at all I really freaking liked them for some reason. ;D I listened to them on a constant repeat until I finally decided to go through the Discover tabs in Spotify and I found more reggaeton music and discovered this wonderful artist named Ozuna. He has such a cool voice!

Also don’t judge me on Despacito. That song is super fucking catchy, even though when the Bieber mix came out it became super overplayed everywhere. Nowadays I can only listen to it once, whereas before I had that baby on repeat all day hahaha.

But let’s get to the main point of this.

Noah Cyrus’s “Make Me (Cry)” song is my #1 most played song of 2017…

I never needed you like I do right now
I never hated you like I do right now
‘Cause all you ever do is make me (cry)

Gave you up ’bout twenty one times
Felt those lips tell me twenty one lies
You’ll be the death of me
Sage advice
Love, lovin’ you could make Jesus cry

…that should paint a picture of what kind of year I had.

I remember when I first heard this song on the radio while driving home. Oh gosh, it had to have been late December 2016 or early January/February of this year. I instantly related with this song and connected with it. I don’t even like Noah Cyrus that much. This is the one and only song from hers I had listened to, but damn I didn’t realize just how often I had it on play!

I think the funniest song on my playlist is Triple H’s theme song. lmaoooooo. I have zero shame. That is my favorite WWE entrance theme.
